Instructions

Step 1. Using wire cutters, cut a length of beading wire 2” longer than your desired finished length.

Step 2. Place the crimp tube with hook on one end of the beading wire – open end first – with the wire sticking out past the hook. Compress the center section of the crimp tube with chain-nose pliers. Crimp firmly so you’re sure to capture the wire. Once complete, pull on the crimp tube to be sure it’s secure. If there’s any movement, compress the center section again until the wire is secured.Using wire cutters, trim any excess wire.

Step 3. You’re ready to begin stringing the beads for the base of the necklace. String the following pattern: one gold bead, one Tanzanite crystal, one gold bead, one Amber crystal, one gold bead; keep stringing until you have 12 crystal beads strung. After your last gold bead, add a crimp tube with a loop and another gold bead before your next crystal. After 15 crimp tubes with loops repeat your beginning pattern of 12 crystal beads with gold beads in-between.

Step 4. Once you’ve strung all the beads, repeat Step 2 to add a crimp tube with loop to complete the base of the necklace.

Step 5. You’re now ready to begin stringing the bead strands. Using wire cutters, cut a length of beading wire about 8” long. Insert one end into the crimp tube with loop in the center of the necklace. Repeat Step 2 to secure the wire in the crimp tube.

Step 6. String on a sterling silver spacer, a hammered bead, a sterling spacer and a crimp bead. Snug the beads up to the crimp tube. Place the crimp bead into the section of the crimping pliers closest to the handle. Close down on the handle, securing the crimp bead to the wire – shaping it into a crescent moon. Place the crimp bead into the first section of the crimping pliers, rounding the crimp bead so there are no rough edges.

Step 7. String on a crimp bead, and place it about 1” below the last crimped bead. Crimp this crimp bead (as you did in Step 6) to the wire, creating an open section between beaded sections.

Step 8. String on a few amethyst chips, a 3mm silver round bead, an 8mm tanzanite bi-cone crystal, a 3mm silver round bead, a fluorite cube, and a crimp bead. Step 9. Cut a 4” length of beading wire. Insert it into the crimp bead strung last in

Step 9. Snug the beads up then crimp the crimp bead (as you did in 6), securing the two wires together, creating a branch-like affect.

Step 10. String onto the new wire, a few amethyst chips, a 6mm tanzanite round crystal, an 8mm light grey pearl, a 6mm tanzanite round crystal, a crimp bead and a leaf pendant. Pass the beading wire back through the crimp bead, snug up the loop just created and crimp the crimp bead to secure.

Step 11. String a selection of beads onto the remaining section of beading wire from the original strand, and finish with a leaf pendant as you did in Step 10.

Step 12. Using wire cutters, cut a 7” length of beading wire. Insert one end into the crimp tube with loop to the left or the right of the center one. Secure the beading wire by compressing the center section of the crimp tube with chain-nose pliers. Add on sections of beads, crimping in places you’d like to secure beads or create open spaces. Once you’ve strung your last section of beads, and are happy with the length of this strand, thread on one crimp bead. Crimp the crimp bead in place. This strand ends with the crimp bead so be sure it’s secure. Trim any excess wire.

Step 13. Repeat Steps 5-12 until you have filled all of the crimp tubes with loops with strands of beads. Be sure to use shorter lengths of wire as you progress further back on the necklace, creating a graduated effect, with the center being the longest.
