Wire Wrapped Pearl Necklace

Materials
16" strand (or as desired) of 8mm crystal round pearls from SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS
One 10mm crystal round pearl from SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS
Etched shell pendant from Lillypilly Designs
20-gauge antique brass German-Style round wire from Beadalon
antique brass clasp from Beadalon

Tools
Round-nose pliers
Chain-nose pliers
Wire cutters

1. Cut a 4" length of wire and make a large wrapped loop to attach it to the pendant.

2. Pass the wire through a 10mm pearl and make another large wrapped loop with the opening facing the front.

3. Cut a 3" length of wire and make a wrapped loop to attach it to the upper pendant loop.

4. Use another 3" length of wire to make an additional bead link, connecting it to the link from Step 3 before closing the loop.

5. Continue making links until half the beads are used or the necklace has reached half the desired length. On the last link, attach half of the clasp.

6. Repeat Steps 3-5 to finish the necklace so it's symmetrical.

For decorative links, use longer lengths of wire. After the second loop, wrap the extra wire in a spiral around the surface of the bead. Secure it by wrapping tightly around the base of the first loop.

For bead caps, use longer lengths of wire. Wrap the extra wire in a tight spiral around the base of the loop on each end to cover each end of the bead like a cap.
