If you're like me, you use a lot of crystals in your jewelry and now you want to add sparkle to everything. Here are a few tips for embellishing your accessories:
Always use 2-part epoxy glue to adhere flatbacks to leather shoes and purses or any other slick surface like cell phone cases. You can use a syringe to make the application neat and easy. Keep in mind that some leather doesn't allow a permanent bond so you'll need to test it beforehand.
Swarovski makes special stickers called "Crystal It" that you can use to add bling to cards and other paper crafts. The process is quick, easy and nearly foolproof!
Everyone loves sparkly denim. Hotfix crystals have a special adhesive on the back that bonds with fabric. Use a Hotfix tool or an iron to attach them. You can even use Hotfix crystals on ribbon, wood and paper. To see if a surface will bond with Hotfix, conduct a "water test": if a water droplet is absorbed into the surface, then it will also bond with the adhesive.
You can set crystal chatons quickly and easily in two-part epoxy clay. Mix equal parts of the adhesive together until it's completely blended, then it's ready to use. When it dries, the clay adheres to the pointed backs of the chatons like glue.
