Long Sophisticate Necklace by Molly Schaller


Materials:
97851 3 9x10mm sea green iris faceted teardrops
97681 4 3x4mm black iris faceted rondelle
94223 2 15mm silver iris faceted beaded beads
16" large copper chain
16.5" copper medium-weight chain
1" copper small chain
2 gunmetal eyepins
3 copper eyepins
1 copper lobster clasp
3 6mm copper jumprings

 

Techniques:
Making a simple loop
Making a wrapped teardrop loop
Opening and closing a jumpring

Tools:
Wire cutters
Round-nose pliers
Chain-nose pliers

Instructions:

  1. Slide 1 9x10mm sea green iris faceted teardrop onto an eyepin. Make a wrapped teardrop loop. Repeat two more times for a total of 3 teardrops.
  2. Slide 1 3x4mm black iris rondelle, 1 silver iris faceted beaded bead, and 1 3x4mm black iris rondelle onto an eyepin. Make a simple loop. Repeat for a total of 2 beaded bead links.
  3. Cut the medium-weight chain into the following lengths: 6", 6.5", 4".
  4. Onto each end of the 4" length of chain attach a teardrop.
  5. Onto the 1" length of small copper chain attach the third teardrop.
  6. Cut the large copper chain into two 8" pieces.
  7. Make a chain by attaching the following: 1 jumpring, 8" large copper chain, 1 beaded bead link, both the 6" and 6.5" medium-weight chains, 1 beaded bead link, 8" large copper chain, 1 jumpring, and 1 copper lobster clasp.
  8. Open 1 jumpring and slide onto it the final link of the small copper chain and a link 2.5" up on the 4" medium-weight copper chain.
  9. Attach this jumpring with dangles to the bottom loop of one of the beaded bead links.

 

Short Sophisticate Necklace by Molly Schaller


Materials:
97851 6 9x10mm sea green iris faceted teardrops
94248 26 6mm sea green iris faceted rounds
4 copper marquis chain links
6 copper staple links
29 gunmetal eyepins
1 copper lobster clasp
7 6mm copper jumprings

*Staple links come attaching marquis chain together, but you will need to reassemble the links so that they include jumprings from which to hang the marquis teardrops.

Wire cutters
Round-nose pliers
Chain-nose pliers

Instructions:

  1. Slide 1 6mm sea green iris round onto an eyepin. Make a simple loop. Repeat 25 more times for a total of 26 round links.
  2. Slide 1 9x10mm sea green iris faceted teardrop onto an eyepin. Make a wrapped teardrop loop. Repeat two more times for a total of 3 teardrops.
  3. Make a chain by attaching the following: 1 jumpring, 13 round links, 1 jumpring, 1 marquis link, 1 staple link, 1 jumpring, 1 staple link, 1 marquis link, 1 staple link, 1 jumpring, 1 staple link, 1 marquis link, 1 staple link, 1 jumpring, 1 staple link, 1 marquis link, 1 jumpring, 13 round links, 1 jumpring, 1 lobster clasp.
  4. Open the top loop of one of 3 teardrops. Attach it to the center jumpring. Repeat for the other two jumprings on either side of the center jumpring between the marquis links.

Simple Sophisticate Necklace by Molly Schaller


Materials:
97681 16 3x4mm black iris faceted rondelles
97988 14 24x30mm copper hammered diamonds
97839 1 30x45mm rhinestone marquis pendant
24" copper 7-strand flexible beading wire
6 copper crimp tubes
1 copper lobster clasp
1 6mm copper jumpring
2" copper chain

 Techniques:
Crimping a tube

Tools:
Wire cutters
Crimping pliers

Instructions:

  1. Cut the beading wire into two 12-inch pieces.
  2. Slide 2 crimp tubes and the lobster clasp onto the end of the beading wire. Pass the wire back through the crimp tubes and crimp.
  3. String 1 black iris faceted rondelle and 1 copper hammered diamond. Repeat 6 more times.
  4. String 1 black iris faceted rondelle and a crimp tube. Pass the wire through the tip of the rhinestone marquis pendant and back through the crimp tube. Crimp the tube.
  5. Repeat steps 2 through 4 with the second wire, substituting a 6mm jumpring for the lobster clasp.
