BeadLinx Statement Necklace
by Katie Hacker

BeadLinx are pre-linked chains of beads that you can use as-is or rearrange to make beautiful beaded jewelry designs. This statement necklace uses layered strands of links to create a dramatic scalloped effect.

Materials & Tools:
2 styles of BeadLinx chain by Bead Master: Autumn Forest on gunmetal and Swarovski pearl on gunmetal
hematite elongated cable chain by Beadalon
lobster clasp
chain-nose pliers
wire cutters
necklace bust

Tip: BeadLinx feature custom blends of Czech glass and Swarovski crystal beads. Choose your favorite color palette and get ready to create!

Instructions:

  1. Cut a piece of cable chain to the desired length to create the base of the necklace.
  2. Attach a clasp to one end of the chain, fasten it, and place it on a necklace bust so you can see how the necklace drapes as you're working.
  3. Separate the mixed bead chain into the following sections: one 9-link, two 11-link, one 13-link.
  4. You can use the sections from Step 3 as-is, or you can disconnect the bead links and rearrange them so the chains are symmetrical.
  5. Attach the ends of the 13-link chain a few inches apart on the center of the necklace (there are 11 links between the ends on the sample version).
  6. Attach the 11-link chains slightly overlapping the ends of the first chain to create a scalloped effect.
  7. Separate two 8-link pearl chains and connect one end of each chain to the center link on the necklace.
  8. Position the other end of each chain in the center of the outer scallops.
  9. Attach the 9-link chain over the center of the necklace (or about three links from each end of the pearl chain).

You can use BeadLinx to jumpstart your designs! Katie created this cascade necklace using graduated lengths of  BeadLinx chain.
