Knotting is a traditional technique that's back in the spotlight. Use two different types of knotters to make
your own bracelets with crystal pearls.

Materials for a 7-1/2” bracelet:
18 Swarovski Elements 8mm crystal pearls
#6 carded poly nylon cord or silk with needle
Beadalon Knotter Tool or Beadalon® Knot-a-Bead
Beadalon Bead Stringing Glue or GS Hypo Cement
1” toggle clasp
.7mm French Wire to fit over the silk
Scissors

Beadalon Knot-a-Bead Instructions: http://www.beadalon.com/images/Knot_A_BEAD_Instructions.pdf

Choose your favorite knotting tool and get ready to whip up a knotted pearl bracelet in minutes.

  1. Cut two 3/8” lengths of French Wire.
  2. Remove the cording from the card and stretch the kinks out. Tie an overhand knot at the end.
  3. String three beads onto the cord, then pass the needle through one piece of French Wire and half of the clasp. (Don't pull the cord tight, as there needs to be a little bit of space between the beads to leave room for knotting.)
  4. Pass the needle back through the last bead so the French Wire forms a small loop.
  5. Use the needle end of the cord to tie an overhand knot, then pass through the next bead and tie another knot.
  6. Pass the needle through the next bead and place a drop of jeweler's cement inside the bead hole. Let it dry, then trim away the extra cord.
  7. Now, you're ready to start using the Knotter Tool or the Knot-a-Bead. Follow the instructions for your chosen tool.
  8. Knot all of the beads except for the last two. Pass the needle through French Wire, half of the clasp and back through the last bead.
  9. Tie an overhand knot. Pass through the next bead and knot again. Pass the needle through the next bead and add a drop of jeweler's cement inside the hole.
  10. Let the glue dry, then trim away the extra cord. You should have enough cord to make another bracelet or two!

Tip: Knotting typically adds 1mm-2mm between beads. When determining the number of beads for your desired bracelet length, remember to include the measurement for your clasp/French wire combination.
