Bling rings are a fun project that can be as simple or as intricate as you want to make them. In today’s Beading Lesson, we will show you some different ideas and how to get started.

Bling rings come in a variety of styles. Each style has loops attached to the top of a metal ring. Rhodium plating is more durable than standard silver or gold plating.

You can use jump rings or head pins to add beads to the loops. This pink and purple ring uses jump rings to attach side-drilled crystal bicones and metal heart tags. This aqua and frost ring uses head pins to attach dichroic glass and crystal beads to the loops. Pieces of chain are also worked into the mix.

The simplest way to make a bling ring is to use beads and jump rings. To make this pink and clear CZ ring, string two CZ Gem Dropz™ and an open circle tag onto a jump ring. Slip it onto a loop on the ring, then use two pairs of chain nose pliers to close the jump ring. Add one or two jump rings to each loop on the ring. The open circle tags add texture to all of the sparkly CZ’s. Once a ring is complete, shake it in several different directions to see if you need to add more dandgles to fill it in.

To use head pins for a bling ring, string some beads onto a pin. Make a loop and attach it to a loop on the ring. Wrap the extra wire around the base of the loop and cut off any excess. Continue adding beaded pins until the ring is super full and blingy.
