Chains don’t necessarily need to be made of metal! Use a variety of crystal bead links to make this dramatic beaded necklace.

Material needed

Fimo® Soft Clay: Indian Red and Translucent
Bead Roller in sizes and styles of choice
Fimo® Gloss Lacquer
Bead Baking Rack
Polymer clay oven
Shaving Cream
Alcohol Based ink: (Jacquard Piñata Ink – Havana Brown)
Heat Gun
Ceramic Tile
Toothpick
Red Coral Mix: Mix one part Indian red with two parts translucent

Instructions:

Use manufacture’s instructions to measure appropriate amount of clay.
Roll desired beads.
Apply shaving cream to tile and add a few drops of ink. Mix with toothpick.
Place bead onto a beading pin or toothpick. Paint the shaving cream mixture onto the bead with toothpick.
Apply heat with heat gun to melt shaving cream and lower ink onto bead in an irregular pattern. If necessary you can repeat this step again to design the bead as you go.

Place beads onto beading pins and place on beading rack. Bake for 1 hour at 265 degrees.
