Everything old is new again and macramé is no exception. In today’s Beading Lesson, we’ll show you how to use macramé techniques to create contemporary designs with beading wire.

When you apply macramé techniques to beading wire, beads take the place of the knots. If you’re familiar with macramé techniques, you’ll have no trouble seeing that this beaded bracelet resembles the look of alternating square knots. Instead of being knotted together, the wires are joined with beads to hold them in place.

To create this easy bracelet, start with four strands. Use crimp tubes to attach two strands to each outer loop on a multi-strand end connector. Attach two strands to the center loop. Hold the center strands together and pass them through a bead.

Now separate the wires into two groups of two strands each. Pass one wire in one set through a bead and then pass the other wire in the same set through the opposite side of the bead. Repeat for the other set. Hold the inner wires together and pass them through a bead.
