Connections

Eyelets – These are commercial connections that can be purchased at craft or scrapbooking suppliers.  These connections require a tool to close the backside of the eyelet, that can also be found where you purchase the eyelets.

Brads – These also can be purchased at a craft, scrapbooking or office supply store. Simply punch a hole and insert the prongs through the metal material being used. Be sure to use some protective measure to prevent the prongs in the back from snagging clothing.

Snaps – Snaps have both a front and back piece to be used together.  They will sandwich your material in between.

Nuts, Bolts and Rivets – Make sure you drill or punch a hole 1st, then use the nuts and bolts by inserting the bolt through the hole catching it with the nut by screwing it on tight.

Wirework and stitches– using simple wrapped loops and stitches as you would with sewing, many interesting connections can be achieved which add detail and versatility.

Pre-designing, folds and wraps – cut sheet metal into desired shapes to allow you to fold or bend it later to achieve a certain look or even a hanger.  I use paper 1st as my pattern and fold to see the final look I am after.
